- Randolph Driveworks RedlineIn Questions & Answers·September 17, 2025Hi, Has anyone here tried these lenses? From what I read in two reviews on Randolph's site, it looks like the tint is actually dark red, rather than orange from the official photos. I presume that would place them in the Rose tint category. I'd like to know how would they compare in that case to Dita Lancier Land Lens and Serengeti Sedona.1235
- Low light conditions. In General Discussion·August 18, 2024Hi, I guess I can admit that I spend over 200 days on the water per year. Some of which are 10 to 14hours a day. I did buy multiple pairs of various type of lenses. For a while the Costa Silver Sunrise were my goto lenses until I had a chance to get my hands on the Maui HT. I could use my Maui in conditions where I had to remove the costa because they were blocking too much light. For the use case, I fish stream, rivers. Since it's all freshwater, I heavily rely on my glasses to go wading in the rivers and also to spot fish. I am also doing competition fishing which is why those glasses are a key component in my success. What I find interesting is that I am now wearing my Maui HT ALL the time including while driving. The downside is the weight. I have the worldcup frame as I want to reduce the amount of glare and light coming from the sides or reflecting on my face. I am left with some solid red marks on the nose and ears when I take these off and I find myself having to lift up the frame from my ears every now and then. While a lot of people care about making colors pop. All I care for is to have the best polarized lenses to remove glares from the water AND clarity is prime even if fancy colors aren't popping and the scene looks dull! Could you think of anything worth looking at? Thanks, Ben2587
- Maui SunriseIn General DiscussionJanuary 29, 2025I just got this lens in the MauiPure, in the Mavericks. It’s true it’s a toned down rose but it is still rose. To be fair it’s winter where I am right now so it’s hard to get a good sense of it, but it’s sort of like a redder version of the Serengeti drivers lens, like it’s almost brown. Similar to the Revo Drive. I’ll do a full review on it in a month or two when I try it in a warmer environment.23
- Serengeti Blue 555nm Vs Costa 580G BlueIn Questions & Answers·October 28, 2024Hi, I am torn between the two above sunnies. I am wanting them mainly for offshore fishing. One thing I like about the Serengeti is it is photochromic so should be a bit more versatile being able to work in lower light conditions than the Costa. What would you say to that? I have read all your reviews already BTW. Great work, Appreciated. And then the other thing is that I want two different pairs. So probably if I was to get the Serengeti Blue, for offshore fishing & general use. I may also get the Drivers for driving, general use and fishing inshore and overcast conditions. If I get the Costa's then would be likely to get the second Costa's as the green mirror 580G version for inshore fishing, driving and general use. Which two do you think would be the best pairing for those use cases and complementary to each other. Also would just one of the above 4 do all? I was thinking that maybe the Serengeti Blue 555nm would? I should also ask is there a better one set solution you could put me onto? Maybe MJ? Cheers, Ken.15101
- Low light conditions. In General DiscussionAugust 18, 2024Have you looked at Maui Jim HT options in MauiPure and MauiBrilliant lens materials? They are much lighter and in my experience the view is very similar to the glass.12

- Maui RoseIn General Discussion·August 18, 2024I recently have obtained a pair of Maui Rose Opio sunglasses and I was looking forward to seeing the colour pop from them. When I tried them on, reds were massively boosted, and greens were muted somewhat. I’ve used Oakley Prizm Sapphire and Prizm Tungsten and I was expecting a similar effect: that of brightened greens and reds, but that was not really the case. I’ll admit, I was a little disappointed initially, but I warmed to them as I do think these lenses have a strong purpose, and that seems to be in a green, natural setting, where the rose lens can set up huge contrast in the greens of nature and allow browns to be boosted. In short, I’ve found them to be a very powerful contrast lens with a red lean, rather than a lens that brightens everyday colours, such as the aforementioned Oakleys. I will definitely keep them as I haven’t tried them in a beach setting yet, and I love their style. Has anyone got any recommendations for sunglasses that give serious colour pop across multiple colours?1270
- Vintage Serengeti Jordan 6529In General DiscussionDecember 31, 2024That's a great find! The 'Sienna' in Serengeti's Drivers lenses typically refers to the specific color tint of the gradient, which enhances contrast and reduces glare. It was likely part of their branding in the '90s, but you're right—it's often just referred to as 'Drivers' now. The photochromic technology in those lenses is fantastic, especially for changing light conditions. It's awesome that yours are still in good condition after all this time!11
