Low light conditions.

Hi, I guess I can admit that I spend over 200 days on the water per year. Some of which are 10 to 14hours a day. I did buy multiple pairs of various type of lenses. For a while the Costa Silver Sunrise were my goto lenses until I had a chance to get my hands on the Maui HT. I could use my Maui in conditions where I had to remove the costa because they were blocking too much light. For the use case, I fish stream, rivers. Since it's all freshwater, I heavily rely on my glasses to go wading in the rivers and also to spot fish. I am also doing competition fishing which is why those glasses are a key component in my success. What I find interesting is that I am now wearing my Maui HT ALL the time including while driving. The downside is the weight. I have the worldcup frame as I want to reduce the amount of glare and light coming from the sides or reflecting on my face. I am left with some solid red marks on the nose and ears when I take these off and I find myself having to lift up the frame from my ears every now and then. While a lot of people care about making colors pop. All I care for is to have the best polarized lenses to remove glares from the water AND clarity is prime even if fancy colors aren't popping and the scene looks dull! Could you think of anything worth looking at? Thanks, Ben

If you’re in rivers and streams, assuming those streams are surrounded by greenery, it might be worth having a look at Maui Rose or MAUIGreen, in Mauibrilliant material.

These lenses look very different aesthetically, but have very similar qualities when worn, in that a lot of environmental green will be pushed down and reds (and to a lesser extent blues) will really pop. They will have the lightness or weight you seek and will be first class polarisation, and will allow more blues and reds for contrast to come through enabling you to see more underwater in that particular environment.

The HCL will allow reds and greens to pop but will push down blue, and if you’re in a green dominated environment that might not be ideal, but it’s great at the beach (HCL is quite similar to a blue mirror, but rose lenses and green mirror on grey lenses manifest almost identically).

TL;DR: consider MAUIGreen or Maui Rose for water activities in a green-heavy environment.
