Maui Jim has two new lenses out, only in very limited frame choices, and without much fanfare and publicity. They are called Maui Glow and Maui Seashine.
Check out Maui Jim lenses on SportRx. (Why SportRx?)

I haven't tried them yet, which is why this is an update rather than a review. However, there's very limited information available about them, and I wanted to clarify things based on what I know.
The lens materials for both are MauiBrilliant, at least for now.
The Hawaii Glow is a gold mirror lens on top of the HCL Bronze base tint, currently only available in the Ka'apeha frame. You can check the Ka'apeha out here.
The Hawaii Seashine is a silver mirror on top of the Neutral Grey base tint, currently only available in the Mekala frame. You can check the Mehala out here.
The regular HCL Bronze and Neutral Grey lenses have bi-gradient mirrors, meaning mirrored on top and bottom of the lens but not the middle. This effect is supposed to "squint" for you. With the Hawaii Glow and Seashine, that middle part is also mirrored.
When I asked Maui Jim to explain the lenses to me, they said, "Hawaii Glow is our HCL Bronze lens with a gold fashion mirror treatment and Hawaii Seashine is our Neutral Grey lens with a silver fashion mirror treatment. They look similar to the HCL Bronze and Neutral Grey but without a gradient".
Here is the difference:
The picture of the HCL Bronze is a bit misleading; it's actually a bit more gold on the mirrored parts.
I imagine they did this for people who wanted to wear Maui Jim but didn't like the Bi-gradient effect. The only options for those people right now are the MauiGreen, Hawaii Lava, Blue Hawaii, and MauiSunrise, which are very bright and bold mirrors, which some people may not want. This gives people a full mirror option for the basic lens tints.
If this is a successful launch, I would expect them to add this option to a lot of frames and to every custom lens with Mauibrilliant.
What I am waiting for is a non-mirrored option from Maui Jim, but with a full tint. Right now, the only non-mirrored options are gradient, which I find too bright. But I find mirrored lenses not to be as classy as non-mirrored, and I would like to wear my Maui Jim's with a suit and look as good as my Oliver People's.
That's the Maui Jim Hawaii Glow and Hawaii Seashine update. I look forward to fully reviewing these lenses.
I think they are available on plenty of frames now. Just ordered some prescription Southern Cross with MauiBrilliant Hawaii Glow.
